The Business Development Programme is a specialised community employment scheme in Naas, funded by DEASP and sponsored by County Kildare LEADER Partnership. It provides you with business training, support, advice and mentoring while you explore the viability of your business idea.

What is involved?
  • The course runs for 26 weeks, with courses starting in May and November.
  • Group Training is one day per week from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Training is delivered in the areas of bookkeeping, financial management, sales and marketing, social media and other relevant skills and topics for entrepreneurs.
  • There will be regular one-to-one sessions with the coordinator to develop the business idea.
  • The remaining hours are spent working on own initiative and doing the groundwork necessary for the business to start.
  • Eligibility is based on being in receipt of a Department of Employment and Social Protection payment.
  • Marketing Practice QQI Level 5 is also delivered
