Youth Studies 2019/2020

 

Are you volunteering or working in a Youth Work setting in County Kildare?

If Yes, this may be for you!

County Kildare LEADER Partnership (CKLP) are running an MU  Youth Studies Certificate Course (Level 7)

CKLP are now accepting Expression of Interest from participants who would be interested in applying for the course. Shortlisting will apply. The course, facilitated by Maynooth University Department of Applied Social Studies, will take place one evening each week in Athy, Co. Kildare from September 2019 to May 2020. The Course aims to facilitate the development and empowerment of course participants and to enhance their knowledge and skills in Youth Studies.

Who Should Apply?  

Funded under the Social Inclusion & Community Activation Programme (SICAP), applications are welcome from people who:

  • Are actively working with young people in a voluntary or paid capacity in a youth organisation/group. The group should support Social Inclusion of young people, for example; those who are unemployed, parenting alone, Travellers, young people with disabilities, Roma, New Communities (including refugees/asylum seekers) amongst others.
  • Have the openness to reflect on one’s own practice, attitudes and beliefs.
  • Have a commitment to learning in a group setting.
  • Have the capacity to complete a Level 7 programme of learning
  • Are over 21 years of age

Registration is free for successful applicants.  A voluntary contribution will be requested from successful applicants towards course administration and overheads.
