Aine is involved with the budgeting, planning and roll out of the CKLP organisational response to educational disadvantage in primary and post primary settings. Her work is mostly with the schools in Co. Kildare which have DEIS status, to support them in addressing gaps and needs among their students to stay within the education system. However some supports are also available to non DEIS Schools such as volunteer led reading programme Better Basics, The Inclusion and Diversity Yellow Flag programme and the roll out of the pilot delivery of Jump A Grade, academic support to targeted students.

Áine also works with other organisations and agencies on projects that respond to needs or issues identified by schools or parents in Kildare.

A recent collaboration has resulted in resources for parents of children under 5 years age, called “Small Steps to Literacy” check out the resource here;

Children’s online safety

County Kildare LEADER Partnership in conjunction with Kildare Children and Young People Services Committee, Foroige, Tusla and St. Farnan’s Prosperous, has created some short video messages to support parents around their child’s online safety. This project is an action of Kildare CYPSC and links with its priorities for supporting parents in Co. Kildare.

The key message represented in these videos are;

  1. Start the conversation

  2. Agree limits

  3. Be informed

  4. How much time was I online today?

  5. Parents share and learn
