College Connect and the SOAR in partnership with Athlone IT, Dublin City University, Dundalk IT, Munster Technical University and Maynooth University are hosting the 3rd Whidden Workshop:

It’s Kushti to Rokker [Chat Workshop: It’s Good to Talk] for Traveller and Roma students who are considering further or higher education.
The event will, once again, be hosted by Kathleen Lawrence plus a group of current Traveller and Roma college students. The focus for this event is on Funding and Financial Supports available to students.
They will have a number of Traveller and Roma students getting together on Zoom to share their stories while also offering up advice for any prospective students. There will also be access staff from Athlone IT, Munster Technical University, Dublin City University and Maynooth University to discuss the following:
• SUSI Grant (what it is and how to apply)
• Student Assistance Fund (SAF)
• Scholarships – including the 1916 Bursary
• Other college supports
• Q & A
Plus they will also be providing some very exciting news about an employment opportunity for Traveller and Roma students to join our WWKR Team.
