Older Voices Kildare distribute some Christmas Cheer !
County Kildare LEADER Partnerships offices, felt a bit like Santa’s Workshop this week as the volunteers and Co-Ordinator from Older Voices,Caroline, started their Christmas Hampers for their older people.
Over 120 hampers were prepared, packed and delivered across the County under Older Voices Winter Initiative 2021.
Speaking to Caroline this afternoon, she stated, –
I am very grateful for all the wonderful helpers we had this week, from the SICAP Team, The Staff in Tús, The CKLP Team, HSE Heath Promotion Officer Denise Croke and Healthy Ireland Co-Ordinator Laura Kelly, it truly was a team effort. This is such a help to Older Persons who cannot leave their houses as often as they would like to over the Christmas period.
Many older people feel Christmas is a particularly lonely time, especially if they live in isolated areas. Older Voices Kildare offer a listening ear and a befriending service as well as a range of capacity building and personal development courses, and supports for dementia sufferers and their carers.
We would like to wish all our volunteers, befrienders and befriendees a very Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year 2022.
