Kildare Ability Project

County Kildare LEADER Partnership manages the Ability Programme in County Kildare to provide person centered supports for young people with a disability between 16 and 19 years who are no longer in education or employment. Ability is co-financed by the Irish Government and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning 2014-2020.

The Project Worker will support young people to develop personal action plans, recruit new participants and assist in all aspects of the programme. The objective of the role is to support young people with disabilities to integrate in their community, engage with relevant services and explore opportunities for education, training and employment. The role will also involve working closely with employers and voluntary groups to engage businesses and organisations who may be interested in employing young people with disabilities.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant qualification, have experience working with hard to reach young people and an awareness of the supports available in County Kildare to young people with disabilities.

S/he will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, have good IT skills and be capable of working on their own initiative.

This position is 35 hours a week.

A fixed term contract up to 30th June 2021 will be offered with salary commensurate to experience.
