This video commemorates 50 years of activism since the first World Romani Congress on 8th of April in London in 1971.
It was the beginning of a European movement to lobby against the inequalities faced by #Roma and #Travellers. In this video Martin Collins, Pavee Point talks to Roma MEP, Romeo Franz and to Senator Eileen Flynn about who and what inspired their activism. We also take a photographic look back over 50 years, hear some
Traveller and Roma music and also hear people’s hopes for the future – a future of equal opportunity and political leadership.
