We are VERY excited to let you know about the first ever Sanctuary Run on Sunday June 19th, the eve of World Refugee Day, at the Cross-Country Track in the Sport Ireland Campus, Dublin 15.

This is a 5km non-chipped, timed event, with an optional donation to our partner Trócaire during the online registration.

It is a FREE event, welcoming both WALKERS and RUNNERS & open to EVERYONE in the community. We encourage people to register early, as the number of places is limited to 750.

The Sanctuary Run 2022 is being supported by Athletics Ireland, Trócaire, Strava and UNHCR Ireland.

About The Sanctuary Runners

The Sanctuary Runners is an Irish solidarity-through-sport movement, which last week won the award for ‘Best Initiative to promote inclusivity in sport’ at the Irish Sports Industry Awards. It has running groups in 30 locations across Ireland, welcoming those who have recently arrived in Ireland, particularly refugees and asylum seekers. The Sanctuary Runners establish groups to run, jog and walk in their iconic blue t-shirts under the principles of solidarity, friendship & respect.
