County Kildare LEADER Partnership is creating a panel for 2020 / 2021 for Community Development Workers to fill vacancies as they may arise. County Kildare LEADER Partnership is responsible for the management of a range of programmes on behalf of Government agencies and other funders.
A vacancy currently exists for a Community Development Worker on a temporary contract to 31st December 2020 under the Social Inclusion & Community Activation Programme (SICAP) 2018 – 2022. The aim of SICAP is to reduce poverty and promote social inclusion and equality through supporting communities and individuals using community development approaches, engagement and collaboration.
SICAP Temporary Community Development Worker: The Temporary Community Development Worker will report to the General / Social Inclusion Manager and will be responsible for supporting volunteers to engage in further education and training, in leadership programmes funded by SICAP and delivered by community education and third level education providers. A key focus of the work is the engagement and support for disadvantaged individuals and groups to benefit from SICAP.
Other areas of community development work in County Kildare LEADER Partnership include outreach community work, capacity building with new and established groups and collaborative engagement with other stakeholders to address social inclusion issues in County Kildare.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant third level qualification, have proven experience of working in a community development role and have a very good knowledge of supports available in County Kildare to local communities. S/he will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, very good IT skills excellent project management skills and have the flexibility and ability to work with the voluntary sector. S/he will be a self-starter and have a full driving licence.
A fixed term contract to 31st December 2020 will be offered to the successful candidate. Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience. It is hoped to form a panel for future vacancies that may arise during 2020 / 2021.
